My querencia is being with my family. I have made the small town of Boone my querencia over the past two years, but I always feel more at home and comfortable when my immediate family comes to visit. Knowing you've got a lot of family members surrounding you at all times, in a place like Houston, was comforting for eighteen years of my life. I will always love my hometown and it was my querencia up until I came to Appalachian. Now, I believe I am more comfortable up here in the beautiful mountains, surrounded by nature. I also think my querencia is being able to sing with a choir. I just recently joined Treble Choir, and I'm excited every time I get to the Music Building for practice. I love to write too, but singing is the way I feel like I am able to express myself best.
